Daphne Dennis - Drama Coach

Daphne was classically trained at New York University’s prestigious Drama Program and Circle in the Square. Daphne is a true veteran of the New York City stage, having performed in well over fifty productions. She has served as Company Manager and Managing Director for several theater companies and spent six years as a Member of the Board The Westside Repertory Theatre in New York City.

Daphne has performed in educational videos, infomercials and commercials, including the CLIO Award winning “Heigh Ho” spot. In addition, Daphne has written children’s plays performed by Children’s Theatrics, a NYC based Theater Company, and has directed several productions featuring young casts, including, Tartuffe, A Christmas Carol, and As You Will: Scenes and Sonnets from Shakespeare. Six of her original plays have been produced in NYC and regionally.

Daphne can work one-on-one with a student and focus on building confidence and teaching the necessary skills for performing in public. Age-appropriate coaching will boost self-esteem, improve physical discipline and coordination, build listening and attention skills, offer relaxation exercises to calm nerves and conquer stage fright jitters.

Whether the client is an actor preparing a monologue, a grade school student reading aloud in class or an executive making presentations to clients and colleagues, individual coaching will teach techniques to impart positive energy, communicate with clarity and above all, be heard.
